The First Pancake is a clown cabaret hosted by Madammm Pancake (Minttu-Maaria Makkonen) who has invited her friends (Joe Kent-Walters and Lanessa Long) from all over the world to Helsinki to enjoy an evening of togetherness and pancakes that fail or succeed. The evening includes delicious food, skillful musicianship, never-before-seen dance moves and incredible party tricks. Unless they fail.
The show's working group, Joe Kent-Walters (UK), Lanessa Long (US) and Minttu-Maaria Makkonen (FIN) met in 2022 at the world-renowned Philippe Gaulier clown school. They are each successful performers and theater artists, working both in their home countries as well as internationally.

ARRIVAL AT THE VENUE:
It is about a 10-minute walk from Ilmala station and 15-minute walk from Pasila station to the performance venue.
The Uutiskatu stop (H0627) is right next to the performance venue (buses 59 and 23, tram 9).
There is a parking lot in the courtyard of the performance venue (€1/hour).
ACCESSIBILITY:
Both Finnish and English will be spoken. However, you don’t need to speak either to enjoy the show.
Food is prepared in the show.

The first pancake on Madammm Pancaken (Minttu-Maaria Makkonen) emännöimä klovnicabaret. Hän on kutsunut ystävänsä (Joe Kent-Walters ja Lanessa Long) ympäri maailmaa Helsinkiin nauttimaan illasta yhdessäolon ja epäonnistuneiden ja hyvässä lykyssä onnistuneiden lettujen äärelle. Ilta sisältää herkullista ruokaa, taitavaa musisointia, ennennäkemättömiä tanssiliikkeitä ja uskomattomia juhlatemppuja. Paitsi jos ne epäonnistuvat.
Esityksen työryhmä Joe Kent-Walters (UK), Lanessa Long (US) ja Minttu-Maaria Makkonen (FIN) tapasivat vuonna 2022 maailmankuulun Philippe Gaulierin klovnikoulussa. He ovat kukin tahoillaan ansioituneita esiintyjiä ja teatteritaiteilijoita ja työskentelevät kotimaidensa lisäksi ulkomailla.
